Endodontic Surgery in Boulder, CO

Signs You May Need Endodontic Surgery

To understand the signs and reasons for why you need endodontic surgery, it is important to understand the inner layers of a tooth. The outermost layer of the tooth is the enamel, which protects the tooth and acts as the main surface for chewing food. The next level is the dentin that surrounds the third layer, known as the pulp. The pulp contains all of the nerves and blood vessels in the tooth.

7 Signs That You May Need Endodontic Surgery

If the root of the tooth has an infection, it is most likely due to an abscess or other condition that is below the root spreading up through the tooth. This is why it is crucial to seek professional treatment from an endodontist who has the experience and tools to perform the necessary endodontic surgery. Do not hesitate to schedule an examination to determine the extent and cause of the pain. If endodontic surgery is necessary, there will be specific signs to look out for. Here are seven signs that you need endodontic surgery.

Continuous pain after a professional cleaning

While it is common to experience pain from having food sticking between the teeth, the pain one will feel that requires endodontic surgery will be much more severe. A general dentist may be able to treat a minor infection with non-surgical means, but if the infection is too great, then an endodontist will be necessary.

Increased sensitivity to hot and cold

While it is common to experience pain from having food sticking between the teeth, the pain one will feel that requires endodontic surgery will be much more severe. A general dentist may be able to treat a minor infection with non-surgical means, but if the infection is too great, then an endodontist will be necessary.

Pain and tenderness to touching the teeth or chewing

While it is common to experience pain from having food sticking between the teeth, the pain one will feel that requires endodontic surgery will be much more severe. A general dentist may be able to treat a minor infection with non-surgical means, but if the infection is too great, then an endodontist will be necessary.

Swelling and drainage of gums around the tooth

If you notice any odd drainage or swelling around a specific tooth, then a root canal may be the most efficient method to treat and save that tooth. When the pulp of the tooth is infected, it can slowly spread to the gums and even jawbone surrounding the tooth. When this occurs, it is even more crucial to seek professional services such as endodontic surgery.

Abnormal discoloration of a specific tooth

While teeth gradually discolor from consuming wine, coffee, tea, tobacco and other products, it is not common to see a drastic discoloration. Even if one is forgetful with brushing twice a day, a sudden discoloration in the teeth is unnatural. The discoloration is the result of an infection spreading through the tooth to the gums and jawbone. Major discoloration of a tooth is a sign of an infection that will most likely require endodontic surgery to treat.

You have a dental abscess at the bottom of the tooth root

A dental abscess forms from an infection in the tooth and starts at the bottom of the tooth root. A traditional dentist cannot treat a dental abscess without a form of surgery. Thus, it is crucial to seek professional treatment since a dental abscess causes incredible pain in and around the specific tooth.

You notice and feel a tiny bump near the tooth

This bump will appear to be a pimple on the gums near or around the infected tooth that is causing pain. If you notice this and other symptoms, then you will most likely need professional treatment. By visiting an endodontist, you will be able to find the cause for this bump and receive the most effective solution.

I had a very nice visit at their office. Ashley and I had a very informative conversation about what I wanted and what I needed to have done. I was very impressed with the professionalism that she had with me as well as the dentist coming in to introduce his self even though he was very busy. I feel very comfortable with them and I am looking forward if at all possible doing business with them. They gave me options that I did not know were even possible to do. My teeth are in very bad condition and I don’t smile very much because of that but after seeing what can be done at a very reasonable price I am looking forward to have them take care of my needs so I can smile again without being embarrassed.

Great dentist! Very friendly and they’re insanely sharp. I’ve learned about dental health’s impacts on the heart, the brain, and so much more from being in the chair and every experience I know when I’m there I’ll be cared for properly.

Ricky Reinert is my husband..he doesn’t have any account liable for leaving a comment…..so I will. We would highly recommend Peak View for all of your orthodontics or dental needs. From the beginning when requesting information on implants, Ashley contacted him quickly, and answered all of his questions, while making his appointment. We went to the appointment, and we’re blown away at the customer service that we received starting at the front desk. The ladies were professional, and kind. Then Ashley took over as our appointment began and explained everything in full detail. She was the sweetest, and smiled the entire time. She made us feel as we were the most important people on the planet. You can tell that she absolutely loves her job, and genuinely care about her patients. The doctor was amazing as well, extremely knowledgeable, and had the ability to make us feel at ease with the procedure my husband was about to embark on. Plus the pricing is unbelievably affordable!!! Most places were charging upwards of $25,000-$30,000 for one arch, so when we came across Peak View, we thought it was too good to be true…but it wasn’t!!! They are truly a blessing, and will be changing our lives in so many ways….we cannot be more grateful for this opportunity, and to work with amazing staff that care about my husband needs….thank you Peak View!!!!
