Maintaining your Dentures

While we customize dentures to fit the patient‘s jaw and not cause irritation, the jaw may change shape over time. Resorption is the process in which the body leaches calcium from the bone structure underneath the jaw once there are no teeth to stimulate the jawbone. Since there is no stimulation, the body takes the calcium and distributes it to other areas of the body over time. Due to this process, the jawbone recedes and the dentures may not fit as well as before. With this in mind, we can provide continued maintenance of the dentures.

In other cases, people will break or damage a pair of dentures due to improper care or eating hard foods immediately after receiving dentures. Most dentures also require patients to remove them each night and soak them in a solution while they sleep. Far too often, people will attempt to adjust the dentures themselves or even repair them without scheduling an appointment. We do not recommend this since it can result in needing to spend more money on repairs and risk harming the gums.
Dentures are more complex than some people realize since we customize them to match each individual patient’s teeth. Some people may only need to replace a few teeth, while others will need to replace all of their teeth. With that in mind, there is no one-size-fits-all pair of dentures. Thus, damaging or breaking a pair of dentures will require specialized work from a professional. While dentures are durable, they are not indestructible.
In some cases, people will purchase over-the-counter glues or reline materials to repair dentures in an attempt to avoid a visit. Yes, these products are dental tools, but they do more than good. People who attempt to adjust or repair dentures have a high chance of damaging the dentures further. These over-the-counter products can also contain chemicals that can be dangerous to one’s health.

I absolutely love everything about Peakview! Choosing Peakview was the best choice I ever made, and I did shop around. I visited with 6 other dentists before I made my choice, and it honestly didn’t come down to cost, it came down to who I felt the best with. In the end I paid about half of the highest quote I was given, and the quality and level of care I have received has been priceless. This is one of the best dentist places in all of the United States and I’ve been to a lot of different dentist over the years but you won’t find any better place to go to find the kind of people here. From the front desk the girls are great right all the way back to the dentist chair and dentist are all top notch people. Everyone at this place is very knowledgeable and caring. I can’t say enough about this place I drive 90 miles one way just to come to see them here and wouldn’t have a problem with driving more if I had to. This business is awesome and if there was more stars they would get every one. If you want the best you need to see the best in Colorado and the USA.

You know I have had multiple dental issues and plenty of dentists have worked on my mouth a ton of money has been spent a few success and some failures. I had given up and resigned to wearing a regular denture and bottom regular dentures do not stay put. Well for whatever reason my feed on social media came up with peakview and I was laughing with my husband about the cost and the too good to be true things that goes through one’s head when you’re older. Well. I was surprised. I was welcomed by a staff who really wanted to help. People who were genuinely interested in what I wanted for my future my budget and my comfort came first. I have never been more comfortable in a dental setting as I have been with this office. I must have seen 12 different offices since I was a child. This is the first place I have ever felt like I mattered.
